MEET SIMON THE ZEALOT
Simon belonged to the Zealots — men ready to overthrow Rome by force. Jesus called him into the same band as Matthew, a tax collector who worked for Rome. Only Jesus could make those two brothers.
THE STORY
We know Simon by his title and his presence: in every list of the twelve, and praying in the upper room at Pentecost. His transformation is his testimony — the zeal that once reached for a sword was redirected into a lifetime of witness for the Kingdom that has no end.
