MEET MATTHEW
Matthew collected taxes for Rome — a man his neighbors despised. Jesus walked up to his booth and said two words that changed everything: 'Follow Me.'
THE STORY
Matthew left the tax booth immediately and threw a feast so his friends could meet Jesus too. When religious leaders sneered, Jesus said, 'I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.' Matthew went on to write the Gospel that opens the New Testament — the outsider became the storyteller.
