NAOMI
FROM BITTER TO BLESSED
“The grieving widow whose emptiness God filled with redemption.”
MEET NAOMI
She left Bethlehem full and came back empty — a widow who buried her husband and both sons in a foreign land. 'Call me Mara,' she said, 'for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.' But God wasn't finished writing her story.
THE STORY
Naomi told her daughters-in-law to go home; Ruth clung to her instead. Back in Bethlehem at the barley harvest, the older widow became the quiet architect of redemption — guiding Ruth to Boaz, the kinsman-redeemer. When Obed was born, the women of the town sang over her: 'Blessed be the LORD, who has not left you this day without a redeemer!' The empty arms that came home from Moab ended up cradling the grandfather of King David.
