MEET MIRIAM
She watched over a basket in the Nile as a girl — and led a nation in worship with a tambourine as a prophetess. Miriam saw God rescue her baby brother, then watched him part an entire sea.
THE STORY
It was Miriam who stood guard among the reeds and cleverly arranged for Moses' own mother to nurse him. Eighty years later she stood on the far shore of the Red Sea with a timbrel in her hand as all the women followed her: 'Sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously!' Scripture names her among the leaders God sent before His people — 'I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.' Her story holds both the watching faith of a big sister and the loud joy of delivered people.
