MEET JAMES
James, brother of John, left his father's fishing boat the moment Jesus called. He saw the Transfiguration — and became the first of the twelve to die for his faith.
THE STORY
James was part of Jesus' inner circle with Peter and John. He saw Jesus raise a girl from the dead, saw Him shining in glory on the mountain, and prayed with Him in Gethsemane. King Herod had James put to death by the sword (Acts 12) — the first apostle to seal his witness with his life.
