MEET GIDEON
Threshing wheat in a winepress, hiding from the enemy — that's where the Angel of the LORD found him and said the most unlikely words in Judges: 'The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!'
THE STORY
Gideon saw himself as the least of the least; God saw a deliverer. With fleece-tested faith, his army was cut from 32,000 to 300 — 'lest Israel claim glory for itself' — armed with nothing but trumpets, torches, and empty pitchers. When the vessels broke and the light blazed out, the enemy fled. God still delights to put treasure in clay jars, so the power is clearly His.
