EZRA
A HEART SET TO SEEK THE WORD
“The scribe who set his heart to study, do, and teach God's Word.”
MEET EZRA
The scribe who brought the Book back. Ezra set his heart to study God's law, to live it, and to teach it — and a nation wept and worshiped as the Word was read aloud.
THE STORY
Ezra came up from Babylon with the good hand of his God upon him, 'for Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach it.' Study — do — teach: that order shaped a nation. When the people gathered at the Water Gate, Ezra opened the Book, and all the people stood up; they listened from morning until midday, wept at what they heard, and were sent home with a sentence believers still carry: 'The joy of the LORD is your strength.'
