NICODEMUS
CAME BY NIGHT • BORN AGAIN
“The Pharisee who came by night and heard: 'You must be born again.'”
MEET NICODEMUS
A ruler of the Pharisees, a teacher of Israel — who slipped through the dark streets to ask Jesus the questions he couldn't ask in daylight. He arrived with a lantern and left with the light of the world.
THE STORY
'Rabbi, we know You are a teacher come from God...' Jesus cut straight to the heart: 'Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.' To this seeker Jesus spoke the most beloved verse in Scripture: 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.' Nicodemus appears twice more — defending Jesus before the council, then in broad daylight at the cross, carrying a hundred pounds of myrrh and aloes to bury his King. The man who came by night ended in the light.
