JONAH
THE RUNAWAY PROPHET • SECOND CHANCES
“The runaway prophet — three days in the fish, one sermon, one saved city.”
MEET JONAH
God said 'Go to Nineveh.' Jonah bought a ticket in the opposite direction. Three days in the belly of a great fish taught him what every runaway learns — you can't outrun the God of second chances.
THE STORY
The storm, the lots, the sea — and the fish the LORD had prepared. From its belly Jonah prayed, and God heard. 'Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time.' One reluctant sermon later, the greatest city of the age repented in sackcloth, king to cattle. Jonah sulked under a withered plant while God asked the question that ends the book: 'Should I not pity Nineveh?' Jesus pointed to him as a sign of His own death and resurrection — three days, and up from the depths.
