MEET JEREMIAH
Called as a boy, rejected his whole life, thrown in a pit — and he could not stop speaking. 'His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones.'
THE STORY
'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,' God told young Jeremiah. For forty years he preached to a nation that would not listen — mocked, beaten, dropped into a muddy cistern. He wept rivers over Jerusalem, and tried to quit more than once: 'I will not speak anymore in His name. But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones… and I could not.' Yet through this weeping prophet came some of God's tenderest promises: a new covenant written on hearts, and the verse a million souls hold onto — 'For I know the plans I have for you… plans of peace, to give you a future and a hope.'
