God asked Hosea to live the sermon: love a wife who would leave him — and buy her back. His marriage became the rawest picture of God's stubborn love for wandering people.
THE STORY
'Go, love a woman who is loved by another,' God told Hosea — and the prophet's broken home became Israel's mirror. When Gomer ended up on the auction block, Hosea paid the price and brought her home: loved, not owned. Through him God pleaded with His people like a jilted husband who cannot let go: 'How can I give you up? … I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely.' Hosea's cry still stands over every prodigal: 'Come, and let us return to the LORD… He will heal us.'
