MEET ELISHA
He asked for a double portion of Elijah's spirit — and got it. Elisha's life overflowed with miracles of mercy: multiplied oil, healed waters, raised children, cleansed lepers.
THE STORY
Elisha was plowing a field when Elijah's mantle landed on his shoulders. Years later, when chariots of fire swept his master away, Elisha picked up that fallen mantle, struck the Jordan, and asked: 'Where is the LORD God of Elijah?' The water parted. His ministry doubled his master's: a widow's oil that wouldn't run out, a Shunammite's son raised to life, Naaman the enemy general cleansed of leprosy in the Jordan, an ax head that floated. When his servant panicked at an enemy army, Elisha prayed one prayer: 'LORD, open his eyes' — and the hills blazed with horses and chariots of fire.
