MEET BARTHOLOMEW
Bartholomew — called Nathanael in John's Gospel — scoffed, 'Can anything good come out of Nazareth?' Then Jesus told him what no stranger could know, and his skepticism collapsed into faith.
THE STORY
'Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you,' Jesus said. Nathanael answered, 'Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!' Jesus promised he would see 'greater things' — heaven opened. The honest skeptic became a faithful apostle and witness of the risen Lord by the sea (John 21).
